In
1997 I began a personal journey and transformation that resulted in
my breaking out of my shell and beginning to investigate my true
potential as a human being. I started to question how I
choose to live my life and to make my living. After 35 years
in the computer field, I pursued a career change encompassing
bodywork, yoga, meditation and wellness. I now choose to live more
in the present moment and less in the past or future, to approach life
more with my heart and less with my mind and ego. My life is
infinitely more workable, fulfilling and interesting than it ever
has been. Through
bodywork, yoga and meditation I hope to assist you in changing your
life, or in getting more out of the life you already have.
Noted for my deep pressure and stretching, I can tailor a session to
whatever needs and preferences you may have. I bring awareness, loving-kindness,
compassion and playfulness - as well my
considerable experiences and skills - to each and every session. I hope you'll
choose to be one of my very satisfied clients.
Graduating
in 1998 from the 750 hour program at the Indiana College of Bodywork
Modalities, I have continued my education by attending an additional 40 bodywork courses since receiving my diploma. I studied aquatic
bodywork at the School of Shiatsu and Massage, and currently I am the only
registered Watsu Practitioner in Indiana. I am a member of the
American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Worldwide Aquatic
Bodywork Association (WABA), and am nationally certified by the National
Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). I
am licensed by the State of Indiana as a Certified Massage Therapist.
In
2002 I completed the professional yoga teacher program at the Kripalu
Center for Health and Yoga in Lenox, Massachusetts. I am a
registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance and a member of the Kripalu
Yoga Teachers Association. I have practiced and studied
meditation intensely since 2001, primarily in the traditions of Thich Nhat
Hanh and in the Shambhala Tibetan Buddhist lineage of Chogyam Trungpa
Rinpoche.
Additionally,
I currently teach massage and bodywork to students
at several massage schools in central Indiana. I absolutely love to teach
and to interact with the students. I also offer individualized
private instruction and coaching for working massage
therapists.
Finally,
I am the owner
and director of this studio - Open Heart, Quiet Mind.
